John Smalley has more than 35 years of results-oriented leadership experience with both public and private healthcare organizations. With Chuck Owen, John was an original founder and Principal with HVP. Prior to that, John served in a number of increasingly responsible positions with Quorum Health Resources (QHR) and its predecessor companies. As Senior Vice President of QHR, John had overall responsibility for up to 110 contract-managed hospitals. He also has worked as an Independent Consultant to healthcare organizations and at all levels of the hospital organization while employed at several individual facilities.
John's leadership skills have been most evident in areas such as hospital-physician relationships, multi-facilities management, Board development, local/regional integration strategies, strategic planning, revenue enhancement and cost containment techniques. His in-depth experience makes him well equipped to deal with the multiple challenges and opportunities confronting successful healthcare providers now and into future.
